American Legion Riders/American Legion Donations: The ALR and the American Legion Post 136 donated a total of $1115. 37 to the legacy fund this year. Let’s keep up the good work.

Cripple Creek: The trip to Cripple Creek was a great success this year, both the Kansas ALR’s and the Kansas Patroit Guard received awards at the ceremonies on Saturday. During the award ceremonies, Susan, John Doles’s mother was there and she came forward to give her thanks to all of the Kansas Patriot Guard members. It was a very emotional time for all, but it felt great to know that so many people care and support us. If you never been to Cripple Creek try to plan to join us next year and if you been there before let’s do it again next year!

Dedication: We received two thank-you cards for our dedication on August the 13th. One card from Anita Foster, the mother of Sgt. Even S. Parker, she wanted us to know how special this day was for their family. The other card was from County Commissioner Ben Scintino, he wanted to thank us for inviting him and to tell us how great our riders are. (but we’ve known that for a while)

Down Members: Sorry to report we have two members down at this time. Gary Gray had an accident on his bike on August 19th; he was in Wesley for a few days but is doing much better now. If you would like to call him, his number is 651-6999.

Greg (E-Bay) Hanson had to lay his bike down last night after the ALR meeting; it was that or hit the car in front of him. Not sure how injured he is, he was going to the Doctor today. If you would like to send a card or call – phone # 733-2775, address is 2045 Marc Ave, Andover, Ks 67002.

Lets keep both of these guys in our thoughts and prayers.

It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something F.D.R.
