Treasurers (Diana Nelson) Corner:

  • Treasurer read financial report. Accepted as read

Chaplains Corner (Ron Herndon) Sick Call update:

  • Goldstar Mother Betty Pulliam still in rehab in Derby. Doing a lot better
  • Legion member Dave Williams had a heart attack
  • Legion member Ski had a seizure
  • Member John Metz’s brother-in-Law had a heart attack

Veteran’s Coordinator (John Metz):

  • Next Banana Run will be 15 Dec
  • Troop Care packages will be sent out this week

Co-Director (Jerry Berry):

  • Read letter from Wreaths Across America thanking us for donation.

Legion Commander (RG Resser):(Not present) Report by First Vice John Metz

  • Received $5000.00 donation for enclosing patio. Will put up a temporary wind barrier for now.
  • Open house is scheduled for Jan 11th

S.A.L Commander (Jerry Armstrong):

  • Kids Christmas party was a success. Thanked Auxiliary for their help
  • Will be raffling 2 guns off in January. $10.00 donation per ticket.
  • Next mtg will be Jan 5th

Ladies Auxiliary President (Lori Metz):

  • Auxiliary closet is cleaned out and ready for demolition
  • Soup luncheon Jan 1st. $5.00 per person
  • Completed blankets for the Veterans at Mulvane nursing home
  • Christmas party at Post Dec 20th. There will be a gift exchange

Fundraising Chairperson:

  • All fundraising on hold until remodel is complete

Patriot Guard and Road Captain (Darkhorse):

  • Nothing to report

Director (Ron Vangas):

  • Wreaths Across America at Winfield Veterans Cemetery Sat 14 December

New Business/Discussion Items:

  • ALR 2014 membership renewals are way behind. Out of 178 members, only 66 have renewed. That’s a mere 37%.
  • Read letter from McConnell Enlisted Spouses Club asking for donations again this year for Operation Surprise. Rick Babinger made a motion to donate $500.00. Seconded by Norman Prue. Motion carried.
  • Nominations for new officers for 2014:

Floor Opened to the membership:

  • Brad Modlin indicated that he had a quilt that he could donate for our Gold Star Mother Betty Pulliam. We will call it a ‘Quilt of Comfort’. Gregg Bauer suggested that we present it to her at our open house on the 11th of January. She always enjoys having a drink with “Her Boys”.
  • Pat Thacker indicated that Betty was lonely at the rehab center and that we need to go by or call her.

50/50: Collected $68.00 - half ($34.00) won by Vicki Kalous (Donated to the Building fund)
