Guest Speaker: Member Steve Towns talked about Shriners Poker Run to benefit the Children’s Hospital. To be held Sat Sept 14th
Presentations: Martha Smith with the Quilts of Valor presented Steve Coberly with a quilt. Martha indicated that 250 quilts have been given out in Kansas so far this year

- Read the financial report. Accepted as read.
- Motion made by Darkhorse to obligate $1000.00 for the 2014 scholarship, seconded by Norm Prue, motion carried
Chaplains Corner (Ron Herndon) Sick Call update:
- John Wise’s mother passed away
- Sheryl Carpenter underwent surgery for mouth cancer
- Nancy Johnson had both big toe nails removed
- Wayne Lewis has been diagnosed with throat cancer

- Next Banana Run will be Dec 15th
Co-Director’s (Jerry Berry) Corner:

- SAL Christmas Party will be held Dec 1st at the Mulvane Rec Center
- Obligated $4500.00 for new bar
- Tickets for gun raffle now available
Ladies Auxiliary President’s (Lori Metz) Corner:
- Next meeting will be held same time as Legion meeting at City Hall in Commission Chambers

Director’s (Ron Vangas) Corner:
- ALR 136 scheduled to set flags at VA on Wed Sept 11th
- Pick up Patriot Guard Highway scheduled for Oct 20th

New Business/Discussion Items:
- Need to start thinking about ALR officers for 2014. Will send out an e-mail detailing each officer duties
- Christmas Banana Run and Winfield Veterans home Christmas donation was discussed. It was suggested that we don’t do enough for the Mulvane Vets. Question was asked why we donate to Winfield which is out of our District. Committee was formed to decide what to do for Christmas (Doug Lehman, John Metz, Ron Herndon, Deb Lynch, Jerry Berry, Diana Nelson, Ron Vangas)
- Wichita Toy Run scheduled for Sunday November 3rd. Jarhead researching whether we will participate this year
- Ron will check out to see when Mulvane Toy run is scheduled

- Rick Babinger indicated that over $1500 has been given to the building fund from the 50/50
